Yes, it’s true. Tweetie 2.0 has arrived on the iPhone App Store. You can download it here [iTunes link].

The $2.99 app is a major improvement to the popular Tweetie app. In fact, it is a complete rewrite of the original app (we discuss this and more in our in-depth preview of Tweetie 2.0).

It combines the best aspects of Tweetie for Mac and for iPhone. Here are some of the new features you can expect to see if you decide to take the plunge:

- Support for the new retweet feature.
- Threaded conversations
- Link your Twitter contacts to your Address Book
- Preview short URLs
- Landscape support
- A new attachment manager
- Auto-saves what you were doing whenever you quit. When you reopen the app, it will go back to where you were last at.
